The projects on this page consist of the following:
Photos 1-3: This is an addition/remodel for the Austin residence of a local architect named Smith Holt. It features Rastra construction, a photovoltaic electrical system, stained concrete flooring, on-demand hot water, and Polycarbonate roofing on the carport.
Photos 4-8: This residence near Shoal Creek and 38th street in Austin consisted of an addition of approx. 600 sq. ft. and a comprehensive remodel of the entire existing structure. The kitchen was gutted and replaced, the existing bedrooms were expanded, and a new master bedroom and bath were added to the rear of the house, as well as a new deck.
Photos 8-14: This home in the Travis Heights neighborhood of South Austin was too cramped for the homeowners to live comfortably, so they commissioned Shelter Design and Construction to design a plan for an expansion of the home out into the large backyard. The project consisted of an 800 sq. ft, two-story addition which consisted of a large kitchen remodel, new dining room, and a new study/guest bathroom downstairs.
